Cake Balls

So I'm sure everyone has seen the new cake pops everywhere at their local super market. Well as I'm sure everyone can tell, I much rather make all my own desserts at home. Way more fun, and you looks way cooler than all those other people who just throw a bunch of cookies on a platter. Well here's the recipe to make your own cake balls and wow everyone.

What you'll need:

1 (18.25 oz) package of chocolate (or vanilla) cake mix
1 (16 oz) prepared chocolate (or vanilla) frosting
1 (3 ounce) bar chocolate flavored confectioners coating

How to do it:

  1. Prepare the cake mix according to package directions using any of the recommended pan sizes. When cake is done, crumble while warm into a large bowl, and stir in the frosting until well blended.
  2. Melt chocolate coating in a glass bowl in the microwave, or in a metal bowl over a pan of simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth.
  3. Use a melon baller or small scoop to form balls of the chocolate cake mixture.Dip the balls in chocolate using a toothpick or fork to hold them. Place on waxed paper to set. If you desire, buy a bunch of small sticks so you can use them to make cake pops!(:
I seriously had the toughest time making them into perfect balls, after a few shots at making them perfect they looked like the professional ones from the bakery. However every time I made them, they tasted delicious!

Coconut Lime Cheesecake

Best 2 flavors/ recipes thrown into one delicious cheesecake. You seriously can't beat this coconut-lime cheesecake. Between the smooth rich taste of the cake and the coconut lime flavor, oh boy you're in heaven. I was so ready to try this recipe, and you should be too!

What you'll need:

3/4 cup crushed ginger snap cookies
3/4 cup sweetened coconut flakes
3 tablespoons melted butter
2 eight ounce packages of softened cream cheese
1 ten ounce can of condensed milk
2 eggs
1 tablespoon lime zest
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon coconut extract
2 cups cubed fresh mango
1 teaspoon white sugar

Directions
1.   Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pan.

2.   Combine the coconut, gingersnap cookies, and melted butter in a bowl; mix until evenly moistened. Press the cookie mixture into the bottom and slightly up the sides of the prepared pan.
3.   Bake the crust in the preheated oven until browned and set, about 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.

4.   Reduce oven heat to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).

5.   Beat the softened cream cheese in mixer bowl until smooth. With beater set to medium-low, slowly pour the condensed milk into the bowl, mixing only until just blended, stopping to scrape the sides of the bowl as necessary. Add the eggs, individually, allowing the first to blend into the mixture before adding the second; again, scrape the sides of the bowl as necessary.

6.   Pour about half of the cream cheese batter into a separate bowl. Stir the lime juice and lime zest into the portion in the new bowl; pour the batter over the crust in the pan, smoothing into an even layer.

7.   Stir the coconut extract through the remaining cream cheese batter; pour over the lime-flavored batter in the pan, smoothing into an even layer.

8.   Bake in the preheated oven until the top of the cheesecake springs back when gently pressed, about 45 minutes. Turn oven heat off, but leave cheesecake inside with oven door slightly ajar until the oven cools completely. Refrigerate until completely chilled.
Prepare mango coulis by pureeing the mango with sugar until smooth. If too thick, add a teaspoon of water at a time, using just enough to make pourable. Drizzle over cheesecake when plated.

Week 7 forum

I hate to say it but I know I wait till the last minute to do basically everything. Between working 2 jobs, and having 5 other classes it's hard to split the time evenly and I sit down every change I get and finish what I can. Even though I have no gotten to complete my review page, I do however like everyone elses webpages. You can tell every single person is really putting in a solid effort and trying really hard to complete the assignments. I have no background with HTML so I am very proud of myself for being able to figure most of this help. For the student that have more background, I praise you guys. I wish I had this background, it would help incredibly! Overall, I am really happy with my webpage. I know it's not much, but it's the fact that I am actually completing the task and figuring it out. Even though I don't think I could go out and create a webpage for a company, at least I have an idea of what really goes in behind it!
