Effect on media
I believe that the effects of internet on media are incredible. Everyday. This blizzard that had just occurred would not have been so well prepared if it wasn't for the media and the internet. We also have seen the different effects on the New England Area and the coverage in what we need to do to stay safe. Unfortunately there have been deaths from this storm, not so much the snow itself but the terrible accidents of carbon monoxide poisoning. Not many people realize how these accidents are caused or how they even occur. One child was just trying to keep warm but didn't realized the back up because the car was so covered by snow. If the media didn't get wind of these accidents, others would no realize how to prevent such terrible accidents from occurring. With the internet being so readily available to us, we can be taught and become aware of situations before more and more occur. I think the media availability on the internet is an incredible thing. Although sometimes situations get mixed up and dramatized, it is overall a great thing to have

I usually get all my weather info via the Internet - on my phone. It is faster than waiting for the weather segment on the news.
ReplyDeleteWhen the hurricane or super storm hit the East Coast recently, a lot of lives were saved because of prior warning and preparation. When people evacuated, they could keep on top of what was happening via the Internet. You can take your laptop with you, but your TV probably wouldn't be a practical choice.
That was very sad about that little boy who died keeping warm in the car, while his dad was shoveling snow.
